Welcome to the Barton Communities Activity Center, a vibrant cornerstone of the Lakewood community for adults aged 55 and older. A Legacy of Community and Support
The Barton Center’s rich history dates back to 1964, with the establishment of the Westerly Senior Center, conceived to serve the social, educational, recreational, cultural, and psychological needs of older adults. Evolving with the community it serves, the center has grown in both scale and scope, now known as the Barton Communities Activity Center, and continues to be a place of activity and connection in Lakewood.
Services and Activities
Our inclusive center offers comprehensive amenities and services tailored specifically for the unique needs and interests of older adults. With a 24-hour library for the book lovers, a convenient corner store for everyday essentials, and a charming book nook, there is something for everyone. The resale shop provides not only a place to find treasures but also a chance to contribute to the sustainability efforts of the community.
